  • Stupid bare metal restore problem. Is this common?

I'm restoring Server 2008 on a 500GB drive, to another 500GB. Problem is, I can't restore because the destination is .03GB smaller than the original partition (see picture). I'm using Dell AppAssure Replay.

Can anyone think of a way for me to restore this, without shrinking the partition on the original server, making a new backup, and the restoring?

Get a bigger drive for the target system?

can you delete the two partitions that exist on the target disk and leave it as a blank disk and let the program create the partition ?
      that's why you're 3Mb short - there's a second partition..

I had this issue several years ago and the 2 HDDs were actually different sizes exactly like yours. I Ghosted the working drive to the smaller drive and then added the slightly larger one to the RAID and then synced it. Bloody pain. Thank you Quantum! (Said it was a while ago)
