  • Vlideo Lan Video player (vlc) in an enterprise environment

I was just wondering if anyone else out there is using Videolan in an enterprise environment.

Its a free open source media player that I have been using for many years now. Have the need to view mp4 on windows xp machines and do not want to put Itunes and Quicktime on them.

Hi, we find that windows media player plays most, and if not then we install kazaa mega codec pack, if that doesn't solve any codec issues then the next alternative is either VLC or GOM player.
VLC is not part of our standard build but it can be installed on request.

I do tend to think 'outside the box' so others may not always share the same views.

    MCITP -W7,
MCSA+Messaging, CCENT, ICND2 slowly getting around to.

Thanks for the response. I used an EXE to MSI convertor and am pushing out VLC via Group Policy. Tks.
