Does anyone know of a sync application that runs as a service, and preferably free.

I need to sync some master folders on a 2008 server to NAS

I've tried DSynchronize which doesn't seem to do anything.

    Thanks

I've used this before, it's java based and I find the gui appears to look like it's not responding sometimes but it works for me and seems quite powerful.

Thanks, do you now if it runs realtime or only by schedule?

        I believe just schedule.
Wasn't sure exactly what you needed from your question.

Have you considered SyncToy? This can also be scheduled using 'schedule'. Not sure what your NAS supports though or what it runs.

Yeah noticed that a few days ago. The prefrerene I require is realtime as service because I want to backup our key ICT data from SharePoint to external NAS (and we logoff from the Server, hence service). Also, because data can be added at anytime, realtime is key.

I've so far got dsynchronize to manual/realtime but it's a bit ropey when trying to get it working while logged off/realtime

Virtual, I couldn't see that SyncToy ran as required so the hunt continues

              Re: folder sync

Well, several weeks later and I'm no further forward with this. I've tried Rsync and a host of apps but none seem to work with the mixture I require:-

              Realtime/while logged off

Looks like I'm going to have to try something like synctoy/windows schedule unless anyone else has any further ideas or apps I've overlooked.
