  • Alter drivers for new motherboard

I need help! CPU and motherboard (Asus P8P67) died. I have bought a new board and CPU (I 5) but board is now Asus P8H77V, so the Windows 7 (64 bit) installed on hard drive won't boot. How can I install the right drivers if the Windows won't even boot in safe mode? Anything about Acronis? If I manage to save the windows installation, will I have an activation issue because of hardware changes?
Thanks for any tips you can give.

Re: Alter drivers for new motherboard

How about a repair install of Windows? -- after backing up your data, of course, if you can mount the drive on another PC. If that fails, no real options except a full reinstall.

Given the size of the change, you probably will need to re-activate, but it should be automatic once you get online
