  • 64bit Printer Driver on 32bit Windows Print Server

    Hi guys,

Is there a way to install 64bit printer driver on a 32bit based Windows server 2003 print server?

In addition, Can 64bit based Windows Print Server host both 32-bit and 64bit printer driver at the same time?

    Thanks in advance.
Mind is like a parachute, it only works when it's open!

As said yes. Add the driver in the Addtional Drivers section.

you may struggle to actually install the additional drivers if you're on an x32 host though, so recommend installing these via an x64 host..

(from the dim recesses of my memory)

Never had an issue installing x64 drivers on a x32 host before.

We're running a host that has around 30 printers with x64 drivers and runs an x86 host.

How could it be possible to install additional 64 bit driver (Windows7)on a 32 bit host print server(Windows 2003)? It would not accept it. Error "The specified location does not contain the driver HP....for the requested processor architecture". It would not either accept Windows7 32bit driver.

from a windows 7 workstation, add the drivers that way.. go to the shared printer, then drivers, then "add additional driver"

I'm pretty sure that's how I sorted it.
