  • Windows 7 Image to SSD - based on a domain PC

    Yep - me again...

Can anyone see any problems with using the Windows 7 image backup utility to take an image of a partitioned mechanical drive and then installing it onto a solid state drive? This machine is on a domain.

Wanted to move the data to an SSD without formatting the PC as the user in question has loads of applications installed so Im trying to get around having to do a freash\clean install?

    Cheers

AFAIK no problem as long as the SSD doesnt require different drivers. All it is is another drive

Yeah cool, giving it a go and will see what happens. Are there any performance losses with a partitioned SSD?
