  • Tool to analyze Backup Exec 12.5 procedures?

Our current Backup Exec schema was set up years ago by someone who left the company a while back. Yes, our backups test fine, and every time we've needed to restore data it's been successfully recovered, but there's no clear picture currently as to what is and what isn't backed up, what does it, how often, what type of backups (e.g. differential), etc.

We're in the process of analyzing our backup jobs / policies / selections and were wondering if anyone knew of an app / tool that would easily summarize everything?
We haven't found any useful tools on Google so far.

I got sent this tool by a Symantec tech recently, haven't tried it much so it might be more for troubleshooting than analysis.

Seeing as BE runs on a SQL back-end you'd think there'd be a tool of this type though.

Found it. The big frickin' REPORTS tab lol!

Ran a variety of reports and I've been playing around with them in Excel. We have a slightly clearer picture now. Trying to nail down something like: "This folder is backed up once a week incrementally, and fully backed up once a month."
