  • BES 5.0 (BlackBerry) on stand-alone server

I am plowing through the documents for installing the BES Express 5.0 on a stand-alone (member) server for Exchange 2007. I can't seem to to find anything that indicates Exchange data components have to installed on the stand-alone server like you had to do with Exchange 2003.

From what I have determined, you create and the BESadmin account on the DC and set the permissions, then you install the BES software on the member server and also allow the SQL Server 2005 Express to be installed. Does this sound right? I have done many BES 4.1 installs on Exchange 2003 but never a BES 5 install for Exchange 2007 on a stand-alone server.

    Thanks,

Yes, at least that is what I did last time I set up a BES with Ex2007
