  • DHCP 80 / 20 rule

Is the 80 / 20 rule onyl really applicable to DHCP server that server >50% of the leases.

I.e. I only have about 70 clients so it makes more sense for me to split the DHCP across 2 servers 50 50. So if one goes down then the other can still service ALL requests.

Is the 80 / 20 rule only used when you have >50% of clients??

I cant see any other benefit to it

    Thanks

    Re: DHCP 80 / 20 rule

For simple network I think that install DHCP service on one server, disable the service, know how to backup and restore the DHCP to another server will give you almost the same result.
Usually 80/20 use in Enterprise etc.
