  • How to learn API ?

    Hi All,

I need to learn API (Application programming interface) --- I have no knowledge about it

From where should I start -- I know virtualization / networking

Are there any videos like Web Based Training that I can buy ?

    Thanks

There are lots of APIs - which one do you need?

How are your general programming skills? (and which languages do you know)?

There are hundreds of systems all with API's that can be programmed individually for each system you want to use.

        https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Applic...ming_interface

You need to be a bit more specific so we can point you in the right direction.

        ***EDIT***

Taking you netowrking knowledge here is a list to the Cisco API's

        https://developer.cisco.com/site/devnet/index/index.gsp

Your Hypervisor knowledge, and i'm only using one here

        https://www.vmware.com/support/pubs/sdk_pubs.html

So as you can see there are a very large number of manufacturer API's available that can be accessed and used by programs that you write.
