  • Explorer view problem in WSS

    Does anyone know why I get an error when opening an Explorer View in WSS?
    It says: Your client does not support opening this list with windows explorer.

    What should I do?

      I read this article weeks before I posted here. None of the workarounds worked for me. And why do you assume I didn't look for the answer before I asked a question here. You cannot judge people too quickly especially when you know nothing about them..

        WHich version of sharepoint?
        On which server platform?

          I believe for Explorer view to work, you also need to have the Office software installed on the client machine. Furthermore, set the startup type of the webdav service to started rather than manual.

          As Ossian mentions, what version of SharePoint and browser are you using?

            Hello Ossian and Virtual!

            Sharepoint 3.0
            Windows 2003 Server
            Windows 7 client
            Browser: IE 9, earlier IE8

            Office software installed on the client machine

            Webdav is set to started..

              Is client integration enabled in Central Administration? I believe it's a web application setting.
