    hi,
How can i disable usb port. i have a printer atteched to a usb port. i want such mechanism that nobody can access these devices while they are disable. and also i can enable it whenever i require. i have read, How to disable USB drives. and likewise, i tried out it for printer which is atteched to usb port.in,
    HKLM\system\CurrentControlSet\services\usbprint
    Start:3

    i have changed in registry,
    HKLM\system\CurrentControlSet\services\usbprint
    Start:4

    but it is not working.
    is this possible in windows9x?
    thanks in advance.

    I don't believe it applies to Win9x.

According to MS's article related to disabling usb storage devices:

    APPLIES TO
    Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition
    Microsoft Windows XP Professional
    Microsoft Windows 2000 Advanced Server
    Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional Edition
    Microsoft Windows 2000 Server
Microsoft Windows Server 2003, Enterprise Edition
Microsoft Windows Server 2003, Standard Edition

I know you're looking to disable something else but the concept is the same.
