Forums cant replace a book, a course etc. I thinking that buy ISA 2004 book can help you to know to install the ISA and if the setup fail - to know how to troubleshout the installation process.

            Re: Isa Server 2004

i have istalled isa on a computer on our network, the network has adhcp, dns, and everything else on other DC's, the network is windows 2000, the machine i have setup has 2 x nic, and it's running windows 2000 server and it's a member of the domain.

the first nic connects to a cisco adsl for net access and has the ip address of 10.10.10.5 the secound card has an internal address of 111.*.*.*

the problem i get is the user put the address of the isa machine in the proxy box and use port 8080 to try and access the net, but i keep getting error msg saying error saying there is a problem with the proxy.?

i can access the web on the isa machine but not the oter on the network?

according to the info supplied with isa everything i'm doing is right?

but i must be missing something...

              Re: Isa Server 2004

              peppereyes,
first, I think you should check your internal nic IP address. It should be in C class address range (per example 192.168.0.1).
Then you have to put two static routes
              route add -p 192.168.0.0 mask 255.255.0.0 192.168.0.1
              route add -p 10.0.0.0 mask 255.0.0.0 10.10.10.5

This should route trafick thrue your ISA server

wow, a lot of ISA errors.

ok, first you should make sure SQL is running (or MSDE)

                      Re: Isa Server 2004

you don't know how you could see if SQL/MSDE is running?
well on the right corner you see a computer icon, where a green play button or as red stop button as parent.

also just look in the services if hé running over there.
