  • Mail in queue

    Hi!

We have a problem that I cannot resolve by myself... OK we send mail to a person and mail has PDF attachment in it (about 350 KB). Person gets email, but without attachment. That mail is then stuck in our outgoing queue and gets delivered multiple times...

Any idea? Maybe can you tell, is this my problem or theirs?
    Where to start?
In addition, we have this problem only with 2-3 customers...

    Thanks!

    Re: Mail in queue

I would say the problem is with your server.

Do you have any software installed that scans outgoing email??

Can you actaully track the email and see where the file size drops out???

What email server are you using???

      Re: Mail in queue

I would also suggest running a packet sniffer on the email server. You'll then be able to see the details of the SMTP and TCP sessions to determine if it's a problem at either layer (application or transport layer).

        Re: Mail in queue

        Thanks guys!

I managed to track down the annoying bug. Problem is in our mail server, particulary in smtp.exe
In email we have two lines like this:
        Code:
        blablabla.
        Tralalala
Our mailserver thinks that this is the end of email, and theres all the party begin...

We just have to upgrade mailer, I downloaded latest version (Merak, Icewarp) and mail went trough without single problem...

        Thanks for your suggestions!
