  • Budget SAN? (split from Misc Certs)

I dont have a SAN Simulator. But thought you might want to try a project

In attempt to learn more about iSCSI (dont have much experience with storage), I was going to attempt the project listed below. I was just wondering if anybody had any input ( any reason it wouldnt work? Is there a better more feasible way to build a free iSCSI environment, etc.)

    Project - Setup iSCSI environment

connect my xp machine iSCSI Initiator, to a Fedora 12 iSCSI Target

iSCSI Target – Fedora 12 (article is written for Fedora 10, but should be applicable to Fedora 12)

iSCSI Initiator – Microsoft Xp (will also try win7, and win server 2008 )

if I cant get the all else fails with the iSCSI Target (most likely, I not very experined with linux distros)
I will be trying this free (trial?) software as a backup

Any comments, thoughts, insights, etc, are appreciated.

    Re: SAN Simulator

Looks interesting, but I'm going to move this to Misc for a possibly better response
