  • Sharepoint 2003 Alerts for All Users

I would like to setup Alerts for certain users on our Sharepoint 2003 System. I know I can ask the user to go to a list and then select "Alert Me", but sadly the list is a "To Do List" for these people and I cannot trust them to use the Alert Me function. Idelly I would like to use a central function to setup user alerts rather than them self managing (or not) their own. I know I can delete any Alerts setup by users but I cannot add them.

    Any adivse would be welcomed.

I know thi si spossible in sharepoint 2007, but sadly we only have 2003 and have no plans to upgrade.

Is this SharePoint Portal Server or Windows SharePoint Services?
    1 1 was a racehorse.
    2 2 was 1 2.
    1 1 1 1 race 1 day,
    2 2 1 1 2

Sorry for the confusion Ihave been running SharePoint 2 for some time, I will download version 3.0 but I still don't think this allows me to setup Alerts for Specified/All users, it still looks like sharepoint 2003 only allow the user to setup his/her own alert...

I have heard about some webparts which have been developed to allow All/Specifci user alert assignment.

          Any help welcomed

Is this more in line of what you are after? http://www.softpedia.com/get/Interne...ed-Alert.shtml

Also, SharePoint Services has these Templates that you may find useful. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/w.../bb407286.aspx
