  • free proxy server

    Hi All ,

We are using the ISA 2000 Server which is although quite old version . Now actually in our setup with ISA all the sites are opened for all and i do need to block it for users accordingly ..Also there is a draw back in ISA that if by mistake some of the sites are having a similiar IP range that site will also be blocked by with ISA2000...e.g mail.in.com and elance.com ...also we do face problem if we block 100 sites and want to check all ip and match it with our new IP which is not blocked so we need to check all sites IP and need to match ...

Now i am looking for the proxy software who works in a reverse manner..block all websites accept 2-3 which we allowed to users...

so can anyone suggest me the free proxy which links up with w2k AD and also a free available ...

    Thanks ....

    Re: free proxy server

ISA 2004 and ISA 2006 already can do that...
So does it need to be a free variant of it?

First choice would be ISA Server. But if you don't have the budget for that, then what you're after is an open source proxy which authenticates against Active Directory?

And now you know what to search Google for

Squid is very popular. Its FOSS and can be integrated with AD using Samba.

            Re: free proxy server

If you look at the documentation I'm sure you'll find everything you need.

Failing that, you could always Google "configure squid active directory"?
