  • MDaemon - domain registration services

We have a small workgroup with 3 clients and are currently using some free POP account.

I want to register my own domain name now, I will install Mdaemon free edition as mail server which supports 5 mailboxes.

What do I need to buy:
    1. domain name (this I will need anyhow)
    2. some kind of mail service?!?

FYI - I do not need a website / FTP space, I only want to be able to create my own mailboxes on the Mdaemon and make sure the mail can be send and received.

    You will need:

    1. Domain Name
    2. Someone to host the DNS zone (Check out ZoneEdit - There free for up to 5 domains)
    3. Public IP Address or some DDNS client (ZoneEdit can also do this for you)
    4. A DNS record pointing to the public IP address
    5. MX record pointint to the A host DNS record

    This should get you started
