Anyone here know good software that will show me status of open and close port on gateway router? I have a setup in which all client computer and server traffic pass through a router. We do not have control over this router so we can not check access list or firewall configure on it. I need to scan ports on routers from any of internal client computer. We are having problems that some of WINS, NTP and other protocol traffic is not passing to external networks connected with that router. I need to confirm that is this router stoping traffic.
    Thanks

          Re: Port Scanner

Take note that running a port scanner AGAINST the router will not tell you what traffic is allowed THROUGH the router. You need to run a port scanner AGAINST the network BEHIND the router to determine what traffic is allowed THROUGH the router as a result of ACL's.
