  • Windows Server 2003 Pop3 Service

    Hello,

now i installed the pop3 service on mz w2k3 server and was very happy that everthing installed without problems. But now i am looking since hours for a functions where i can set up my internet pop3 server. I want to receive the emails for my internet domain per pop3 and distribute to all local Outlook mailboxes.

What can I do? Do i need another Software?

    thanks.

    Hi Mate,

I'm not sure if I understand you correctly but the standard POP3 service on a 2003 server does not collect mail from an ISP then distribute, it merely acts as a POP3 server (like your ISP is hosting).

If you run exchange you can download\buy 3rd party POP3 connector to do as you ask, then exchange distributes the mail, if you are running SBS 2000\2003 then MS provide a POP3 connector for exchange.

    Hope this helps

I only collect from a single catchall mailbox and I use

        http://www.jam-software.com/smartpop2exchange/

        Which works a treat.
