  • QuickTime Command Line Install

    I've got the quicktime.msi file (v7.5.5) and can run it with the /i /quiet switches to install it.

    What I can't figure out is how to prevent the tray icon and disable automatic updates. Does anyone know?

    Thanks.

      Thanks, that site was helpful. I used the following string which removed the icons from the desktop and task tray:

      Code:
      MSIEXEC /i QuickTime755.msi ASUWISINSTALLED=0 SCHEDULE_ASUW=0 ALLUSERS=1 REGSRCH_INSTALL_ASU=0 DESKTOP_SHORTCUTS=0 ProductLanguage=1033 /qn
      After the install, I added the registry key to disable auto-update:

      Code:
      [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Apple Computer, Inc.\Quicktime\ActiveX]
      "QTTaskRunFlags"=dword:00000002
