  • changing time format in excell

    Hi,
How can i change time format (with a formula) on data in excell sheet'
e.g 21:12:05 (21 hours' 12 minutes' 05 seconds) to be dislpayed only in minutes.
insted of 21:12:05 i need it to be shown as 1272.083
    Thanks,
    Bendi

    How about this:

    Cell A1 has 21:12:05
Cell A2 has =HOUR(a1) - This converts how many hours there are which should be 21
Cell A3 has =MINUTE(A1) - This converts how many minutes there are which should be 12
Use another cell to multiply A2 by 60 then add cell A3. Thats how many whole minutes there are.

For the seconds you could use SECOND(A1) and then divide. Add it all together and you get the minutes.

    Hope this helps.

      Thanks,
I received a formula that does the trick:

      =HOUR(C4)*60+MINUTE(C4)+SECOND(C4)/60

      Thanks anyway,
      Bendi
