  • No audio in flash sites AND can't play midi files

    hi everybody!

For sometimes i have an audio problem regarding flash sites and midi files. i've tried already to to remove all my codecs and driver and to start from the begining, but with no sucsses...

My audio card is on-board, and for that reason i'm adding a report from everest about my computer.

my quiestions: 1) what is the best driver for this on board audio card?
    2) what codec should i install?
    3) how can i remove my flash player, and install another
one? can this be the problem?

    THanks fot helping.....

    1) You need to provide more info on your board before any recommendation could be made by the forum memebrs

    2) As far as im aware no codec is needed for flash or midi files. Flash is streamed using the SW Synth channel on your sound card. The flash plugin you downloaded after viewing the first flash site should have all you need. Maybe try checking the volume controls?

Midi is a set of commands to your sound card. For example PLAY PIANO NOTE C VOLUME 4 FOR TWO BEATS. No codec is needed for this. Codecs are required for compressed data (Like compressed video eg MP4).

    3) Im not too sure about this one. There is no flash player in my add remove programs but i do have a shockwave entry. You can download the standalone flash player from macromedia's website. It is hidden away so you will have to rummage around for it.

I hope this info helps. Let use know how you get on.

Motherboard details... make, model, current bios version, current on board sound driver....

        Flash link:

        http://www.macromedia.com/support/sh...ng/main_3.html

You need to register but its all free and pretty quick to do. Dont try to uninstall just install the new version over the top.

We need the motherboard manufacturers name and model number. You may need to open your pc and look at the motherboard for that.

Im afraid there is no 'usual' place. It varies from motherboard manufacturer and can be hard to find on a system that is installed and has wires and cables in the way.

If the inside of the case is a mess, then try installing BIOS Wizard http://www.biosupgrades.com/biosagent/index.cfm . This will give you a BIOS string and from that you can see who the manufactrure is. http://www.wimsbios.com

Personally I find it easier to open the case and look for numbers & markings that may be screen printed on the board. Look near the main chipset or between the PCI slots.
                      1 1 was a racehorse.
                      2 2 was 1 2.
                      1 1 1 1 race 1 day,
                      2 2 1 1 2
