  • can't start spooler

    Hi all,

Every time, a fully updated, windows xp is starting up I get this annoying message under : "can't start spooler" "spl0422:The windows printer OKIPAGE 14e no longer exists. reconfigure the spooler." Then I must press OK for demolish this massage.
In the past there was this OKI printer connected through lpt to this pc. Lately I installed a USB Lexmark printer.
I google this issue but came with nothing much.
    Some advises would be appreciate.

    Thanks,

    Ronker.

    Hey, dude.
    Two questions, before going deep:
    - does the old OKI printer still shows in the Printers folder?
    - can you print to the new Lexmark printer?

    10nx.

Cool. That means you have the Print Spooler service up an running.
I suggest you go to Kyocera's site, to this link: http://www.kyoceramita.eu/index/serv...eter&category= and download the Deleter_2.8.1031.zip .
Extract the files and run the EXE file. Let the software finish the scan and delete all references to the old OKI printer.
        It should solve the problem.
BTW, it is the best tool I know for solving problems of old printers, and not only Kyocera.

            Re: can't start spooler

So I downloaded the tool, execute it and found through it some registry entries and deleted it but the annoying message didn't gone so I looked manually for some more registry entries for OKIPAGE (case sensitive) and found some more and delete and the annoying message has been demolished.

            Anyway Sorin,

            thank you for your help.
