  • Dos to W2K3 Server Network

    Hiya all,

    I've got following problem:

I like to connect a computer with DOS on it installed to a Windows 2003 Server.

DOS (7.0) has the MS Net Client (3.11) on it installed and using the NWlink protocol to connect to another computer.
The Windows 2003 server has got an domain installed on it and for the NWlink protocol is already loaded.

I can connect the DOS computer to any computer in a workgroup, but not the 2003 Server which has a domain.
A windows computer like XP, 2000 etc. can connect to the Server. But only the DOS computer gives een error.

    Does someone know an solution?

Re: Dos to W2K3 Server Network

If you are trying to connect to Win2k3 from DOS you'll need to check the machine policy on the server (may also get pushed via GPO)

Security Settings --> Local Policies --> Security Options --> Microsoft network server: Digitally sign communications (always).

If this policy is enabled, I don't think you can login to a share using DOS.
