  • Drives failure in Raid 5

    Dear all

My question is that if i configure Raid 5 with 3 hard drives and if 2 of them fails
will it be possible to recover data Thanks.

Re: Drives failure in Raid 5

    No!
RAID 5 will tolerate one drive failure, regardless of how many drives are in the array
RAID 6 will tolerate two failures.

If more than one drive fails, some data may be recovered with specialist tools but assume nothing, especially from large files, is recoverable.

    Good backups will be vital

Is this a hypothetical question or relating to a real array?
