Sony have a very good download centre which will use the serial of your laptop to download the correct drivers -- I would assume reinstallation of the audio driver will sort you out

Have you tried re-enabling the audio devices in device manager?
If you tell us the OS you will get more focussed help

Hi Tom, tks for the quick reply

aparently my model is too old (2005) and i cannot find the model name in the sony site.
Yes i ve tried to disable but than i can not re-enable it.
I ve down loaded the idt from internet but still the code 10 remain
OS i think is windows XP (but as u can see i am a bit illiterate)

      i ll try again.

Btw where i can find my serial number. It is not a laptop.
and how can i give u a positive feedback in theforum (it is the first time i connect)

      thankou

Re: IDT high definition audio codec - sony vaio 2005 model PCV - H21M

Sorry -- I assumed from "Vaio" it was a laptop
If a desktop, serial (as 7+8 digits) will be on a sticker somewhere on the case
Feedback is the "Yin-Yang" (black/white circle) button near the top right of each post

Sorry, don't have time to dig in detail, but there is a manual in the Sony FTP site
        ftp://ftp.vaio-link.com/PUB/
so I suspect the driver is there somewhere...
ALso a bit of googling says it is also known as a VGC-?? and there will be a sticker with a similar model number -- put it in here:
        http://support.vaio.sony.eu/computin...old=n&s=VGC-LV

        Good luck!
