  • help to recover RAID 5 array and data from HDD

I have one IBM x3650 with 3 SAS HDD of 146gb each. Recently the OS (win server 2003) corrupted and I need to backup all the data from it.

problem is that the windows is not starting and accidentally I rebuild the array. It using RAID 5.

how to recover Array / data from this?

I have another working server with same settings, can I use that server to recover data from these HDD's without making Array or making a different array ?

If you've rebuilt the array and it removes any data then your out of luck retrieving the data other than sending it away for data recovery to a specialist.

You could of course try it in another server but i doubt very much whether you'd retrieve anything.

Does rebuilding this array remove any data???

Whatever you do, take the array offline and make sure nothing gets written to it

There are recovery tools (http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en...meta=&aq=f&oq=) but depending on the value of your data, a specialist would be better -- it will not be cheap!
