  • Memory Lock on DL380 BIOS

    All,

We have a DL380 G6 that keeps coming up with a Blue Screen displaying the message ***Hardware Malfunction***

This is a new server with Windows Server 2003, Exchange 2003 Enterprise and Kaspersky AV.

After HP came in and replaced the Board, The Processor (Twice) and the Cache Memory we have now established that it is actually the amount of memory in the Server coupled with the AV.

Essentially with Kaspersky uninstalled it will work with 2, 4 or 6GB. With Kaspersky installed it will only work with 2GB. Any more and we get the blue screen error around 2-3 minutes after start up.

Kaspersky have advised us that this is down to the 'memory lock' or 'bit lock' option in the BIOS. I have looked but cannot see where this is. Any ideas?

    Cheers

    Jim

Just after some advice. Have you ever tried ringing HP.

It took their best six days, three on-site engineers, over two hours of phone calls, replacement of virtually every component and eventually I established the issue!

Just wondering if anyone knew where these settings are.

      Thanks

        ***SOLUTION***

Apparently you need to go to System Options, Processor options, and Disable No-Execute memory bit.

        Cheers
