  • PCI Memory Controller won't install

    Just an FYI all,

One of our major customers use Fujitsu Lifebook E8410's, but have (down)upgraded from Vista to XP..

Device Manager was always showing that the 'PCI Memory Controller' didn't have a driver, after some googling, i found out that this device is the Intel Turbo Memory device, which supports the ReadyBoost and ReadyDrive options in Vista..

Of course since XP DOESN'T support these functions, there aren't any drivers for this device..

On the Fujitsu Lifebook E8410 ***YOU CAN DISABLE INTEL TURBO MEMORY IN THE BIOS***

AND I assume the same for most other laptops..

I called Fujitsu a few times and they had no idea, they wanted me to send it in for a repair...

Hopefully, this'll save somebody, somewhere at least an hour...
