What server OS are you using?

Microsoft has introduced hardware management in Windows 2003 R2. I believe that continues in windows 2008 as well.

    How to set it up:

For more info on the MS implementation of Hardware management:

        Hmmm??

Well, if you want to do that in one shot as you said you'll need to do it through a server or application that supports it.
In terms of MS products windows server 2003 R2 supports hardware management of client OS as I said. If not, you can use Altiris as you are already doing or others that use the Intel's V-Pro technology.

Re: Tools for modiying the BIOS

Are you looking to change settings in every BIOS under your control at the same time, or just to update them, or to change a setting? Are they all from the same manufacturer?

A long time ago, in a job far far away, we used Chaintech motherboards. They provided a tool to bulk modify the bios so if you have a lot to do and are a large purchaser then the manufacturer may be able to help too. What boards are they?
