  • Locally auto creation of outlook 2003 profile (winxp)

Im trying to set up a computer so that any 'new user' who logs on and starts outlook.exe gets a profile automatically created. perferably id like to do this on a pc by pc basis.
I've copied the prf to c:\PRF\OUTLOOK.PRF
manually running OUTLOOK.PRF will setup the user account, but id like this to happen with no user intervention.

    editing c:\windows\system32\usrlogon.cmd to include
IF EXIST "%USERPROFILE%\Application Data\Microsoft\Office\MSOut11.pip" GOTO :Continue
    start "" "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office11\outlook.exe" /importprf C:\PRF\OUTLOOK.PRF

would have been perfect but didnt work for new users,

i dont want to use a vbscript to do this via logon scripts for this scenario id like it to all happen locally.

Has any of you configured this to work on a local basis?

I do tend to think 'outside the box' so others may not always share the same views.
