  • inline images removed, attachments not

    Hi everybody,

The first one who figures out this problem, i'll personally send him/her a Red Bull (since i've been using them a lot latelly for figuring this problem out )

We're using Exchange 2007 for our mailing system. Most of the clients are still using Outlook 2003 with SP3.

When sending a simple e-mail (internally) with an attachment, everything is ok. But, and here comes the problem, when sending the same or other image inline the message (internally), the image dissappears.

When we open this client his OWA, we can see all everything as it should be!!

    So, conclusion:
    • Exchange 2007 with latest roll up (no SP1)
    • clients use Win XP SP2 + Office 2003 with SP3 + AVG
    • emails are sent as HTML
Come on guys, who wants the free Red Bull?

(you can see how desperate I am)

    Greetings,

    Ivan Pudic

Re: inline images removed, attachments not

      allready tried it!
i've also tried to completely remove office 2003 and installed office 2007 but still the same!
tried removing and changing the registry "hack" for secure temp folder but still no luck

the thing is, when the same message is being sent to others in CC, some of them get it good and others don't some are using Outlook Express (externally) and some are using Outlook 2007 (I for example)

the one using Outlook Express is getting the message in plain text, so nothing is displayed as it should be: no attachment and the collums and rows are all f*cked up (excuse my language, it's the Red Bull ) but i was in CC with that message and i got it good, with the attachment and inside the message i saw the collums and rows all properly (using outlook 2007)

      strange strange strange

don't know what to try anymore out

Re: inline images removed, attachments not

there is no AV installed on any of the Exchange 2007 Servers
every exchange role is installed seperately on each server (so there are 4 server in total)

after that there's a barracuda firewall and after that there's an isa 2006 firewall also

            Hmm.
Are all 4 servers definitely exactly the same with rollups?
If you track the message I assume it shows delivery etc.
Do you have any transport rules setup?
Any odd plugins in outlook or gpo's for office etc?
            cheers

Re: inline images removed, attachments not

uninstalling the AV (AVG) did the trick
this time, i uninstalled the AV (AVG) and rebooted
the same email was resent, i now the client can see the inline attachments!!
                thanks for the help!!

it's a bit strange since that AV was always installed at here computer!

if you give me your address i'll send you that Red Bull
