  • Installing new fonts on Office XP

I am trying to install a new font on Word for XP, but keep getting the following error message:

The (font) is currently being used and cannot be replaced.

Wait until windows has finished using the file and try again.

    Any ideas?

What is the font you are trying to install?
Do you perhaps get the indication that the operating system already has the font installed and the system is using it?
    1 1 was a racehorse.
    2 2 was 1 2.
    1 1 1 1 race 1 day,
    2 2 1 1 2

It is a Tru Type HammerKeys that imitates a typewriter. I haven't seen it in the fonts list for Word, as this is why i was tring to download one.

how did you install the font? did you use setup program that came with the font or you are trying to do it manually. The easiest way to install font is copy the font in control pannel and then fonts folder. Then in the font folder -- select file from menu and select install new font. When you will click install new font it will give you window to select font from there. Choose your font from that window menu. By doing it font would be installed.
The word will automatically list that font after this procedure
