I have a 2010 excel file that is open password protected. Office Password Recovery PRO tells me that it is not protected. I know that is protected because I am prompted with a password box when trying to open the file. Any advice?

Did you create the file or get it from someone?
    1 1 was a racehorse.
    2 2 was 1 2.
    1 1 1 1 race 1 day,
    2 2 1 1 2

If you're prompted for a password on opening the file and if it won't open without a password then I'd say it is password protected, regardless of what some third party tool says.
