  • Excel 2010 Grey Screen

I have a user who is getting a grey excel screen when trying to open excel docs in 2010. It is only happening under his user account.

I tried searching the web but only found a fix "Go to ToolsOptions, General tab. Uncheck Ignore Other Applications"

I don't have a tools menu and I cant find that option under general in my options section.

The other fix I found was to run> excel /unregsvr then excel /regsvr. That doesn't work either.

    He's running XP SP3 on an Optiplex 755. 2.53 GHz 2GB RAM.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm able to open docs within excel but not from double clicking the doc icon.

OK I found it. Under options>Advanced>uncheck Ignore other applications that use Dynamic Data Exchange (DDE)
