Here is a link which shows the different versions of Office 2010:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/l.../ee523662.aspx

Since I'm in no way a licence specialist the following is without any warranty. In order to install Office 2010 on a terminal server you need a version licenced per volume licencing programm. The link above points to standard and pro plus, but I have no idea why standard would not work.

Maybe you should contact the friendly licencing guy in your neighbourhood.

Standard doesn't allow you to install on terminal services. I think from memory it actually refuses to allow you.

Pro Plus is the only version that will. Basically you cannot install retail product on Terminal Services.

to follow on from what simon said.

you also need volume licencing to install office on a terminal server

          thanks for the replies

i presumed i would need a volume license

so x50 users volume license of 2010 Home and Business x50...done

dammit, Professional Plus is twice as pricey

I would recommend calling a vendor the sells Microsoft volume licenses. They will be able to give you the inforamtion you seek.

but consider that not all 50 users would necessarily be logged onto the terminal server at once..
i remember reading something about exactly this just the other day..
