  • transliteration tool (cyrillic to latin and vice versa)

There was a transliteration add-in tool for Office 2003 that worked (and still works...) like a charm. cyrillic to latin letters and vice versa with a single click...

Is there something similar that can be used within Office 2007 ?

Just FYI, Office 2003 Add-in: Latin and Cyrillic Transliteration (translit.exe) works in both directions perfectly well with Word 2007.
It can be downloaded for free from Microsoft Download Center 251kB as vast majority of you already know...

    cheers

Be aware that transliteration tools might produce unexpected results. There are several cases in which, say, Russian names do have multiple romanized versions. Quite often it depends on the target language too, so any transliteration should be checked manually. For example, Russia's president is "Dimitry Medvedev" in English, but "Dimitri Medvedev" in French.
