  • Outlook default font

We have a new 2003 TS server with Office 2007 but does anyone know where the setting is that determines the fonts when Outlook is first run for each new profile created when a user logs in?

I would imagine they will be from Local_Machine ??

By default these are Calibri and I can use a regstry key MailSettings in common Curent_User to define these after Outlook has run for the first time.

    Thanks

            Re: Outlook default font

Configure Outlook on a reference computer.
Each of the following items will be added to the registry when it is configured with a custom value,
            HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\ 12.0\Common\MailSettings
ComposeFontSimple (- The composing new message font).
ReplyFontSimple (- The reply and forwarding font).
TextFontSimple (- The plain text font).

To set the default font for all users you can use,
            - Group Policy Preferences / Registry
            - a custom ADMX
            or,
            - by logonscript

              Re: Outlook default font

              Cheers guys,

I know where the settings are in Outlook, but it is the First-Run I want to try and define, They must be set somewhere for all new users to be assigned a font from the outset, not after.

I've already defined a script to update the common mail settings font, again these are set after you change the font and not really the way I want to go and we don't use GPO to control our fonts in Outlook (maybe this is something I should look into)

My primary goal was to try and force the fonts before first-run

              Cheers
