  • Sum a range of summed cells

    I've got an excel worksheet that sums various cells from another worksheet. What I need is to sum these summed cells. I found that I can use the Value function, but only if I add a "+" between the cells (e.g. value(A1+A2+...)). Is there a way to get the value of a range of cells? (say A1 through A55?). I tried Value(A1:A55). this doesn't seem to work...

    Re: Sum a range of summed cells

    Why not use the SUM function -- it should work on the summed value in the other cells
    e.g.
    D1 = SUM(A1:C1)
    D2 = SUM(A2:C2)
    etc...

    D56 = SUM(D1: D55) to total all the totals

    AFAIK there is not a problem even if the data comes from other sheets

      Thank you!
      I actually tried summing it up by dragging my mouse over the cells.
      That gave me a #Value error.
      Didn't think about writing the sum function manually...

        No problem -- glad it worked out!
