    I have a requirement for putting network switches into office area's within our building, and due to budget I'm looking at managed smart switches, these are to act as edge switches. I have narrowed it down to three models which are;

    Zyxel GS1910-24 or Zyxel GS1920-24 if fanless
    HP 1810-24G (v2) (J9803A)
    Netgear GS724Tv4

    The switch needs to be fanless and have at least 24 ports, the features I would also like the switch to have are vlan capable, spanning tree protocol, port mirroring, trunking / link aggregation.

    On a side note I have also been looking at the Zyxel GS1920-24 and cant seem to find stated any where if this switch is fanless or not, I was wondering if anyone has any hands on experience with this switch?

    Any input would be greatly appreciated.

    According to this manual it does have a fan:

      Why do they have to be fanless?
      Though I admit I haven't looked lately, the Cisco/Linksys switches were fanless and had a fairly friendly interface. Only issue I disliked was they were fairly big suckers even though 1RU thick. Were totally inadequate unless you have a very deep cabinet.

        We have Dell power connect switches and they are pretty quiet.
