  • NAT Question

    Hi all,

    Got a question from a test. Wanted your expert help

    Based on the following Diagram:

    Let's assume R1 and R2 are doing NAT and A1 want to contact D1, I gave the following packet route:

    SRC: 192.168.1.1
    DST: 192.168.1.254

    SRC: 192.168.100.1
    DST: 192.168.100.2

    SRC: 192.168.4.254
    DST: 192.168.4.1

    Is it correct?

    Regards,
    Syslog

      Re: NAT Question

      based on your diagram, you shouldn't actually need to be NAT'ing

      * each subnet is it's own IP range
      * R1 has knowledge of 192.168.1.0, 192.168.2.0 and 192.168.100.0
      * R2 has knowledge of 192.168.3.0, 192.168.4.0 and 192.168.100.0

      as long as R1 is told it can route to 192.168.3.0 and 4.0 via 192.168.100.2
      AND R2 is told that 192.168.1.0 and 2.0 are reachable via 192.168.100.1
      AND each subnet has the appropriate gateway, it should be fine..
