  • IPV6 Tunnel

I finally got around to setting up my ipv6 tunnel with Hurricane Electric. They do give you a /64 for your endpoints and also a /48 for subnetting/addressing your internal hosts. Best of all its free. I set mine up on a Cisco 2821 router but you can do it from a Windows/Linux box as well. My tunnel is a ipv6ip tunnel from the router to the HE endpoint. All in all it works really well. I did see a bandwidth decrease going through the tunnel but that is to be expected with the additional encapsulation. I was surprised at the number of websites that are ipv6 ready. I did this mainly for learning/testing. If your interested check out Hurricane Electric.
