  • Youtube Problem

Why is it I cannot access Youtube. All I get is a blank screen with Authorization Error. in the top left corner. I have no trouble with any other sites. I use Windows XP and Internet Explorer.

    Re: Youtube Problem

    Is your ISP blocking it?
Have you tried with another browser? (portable firefox, for example)
Does another computer on your internet connection still block it?
    Which version of IE?
Can you access it by IP address (if so, look in your hosts file)?

      Re: Youtube Problem

Thanks - I have no trouble opening Youtube on another PC using the same server Orange. The problem still happens if I disable my AVG for a mo.

When I am refused access to Youtube on this PC the address changes to

      http://www.youtube.com/set_safety_mo...w.youtube.com/

I cannot stop Yahoo being my search provider. It ignores attempts to select another.

From it may be something to do with cookies:

(I like the way the first few links are direct to youtube, which you cannot access!)

          Re: Youtube Problem

clear all your cookies and cache in IE
          then if that doesn't work
reset IE to defaults (tools > internet options > advanced > reset defaults)
          and see if that helps.

(caution, above steps will make you lose your history, and any saved passwords etc)

            Re: Youtube Problem

Thanks I reset IE but Using http://www.youtube.com/ then Authorization Error. only still displays on the Youtube site with the address

            http://www.youtube.com/set_safety_mo...w.youtube.com/

I can however open You tube by using this

            http://www.youtube.com/index?gl=GB/ then http://www.youtube.com/

Actually I am in contact with AVG because their Family safety Application maybe causing the problem
