  • RRAS VPN Issue

    Here are our network settings:
    Office Network
    10.1.40.0/24

    VPN IP Pool
    10.20.40.1 10.20.40.100

We are running out of IP addresses in the 10.1.40.0/24 network and would like to have a separate pool for VPN users.
How do I get the VPN pool to access our private network? I think that I need to have a static route but I have tried different routes and none work.

We are using MS RRAS and have the following settings:
    General
    Internal 10.20.40.1
    Local Area Connection 10.1.40.216
    Loopback 127.0.0.1

    No Static Routes
    No NAT

    Thanks in advance!

    Re: RRAS VPN Issue

I'm slightly confused about your setup as that would indicate that you already have a seperate pool for VPN clients. What's your subnet mask?

To configure a static pool for VPN users rather than using DHCP from the internal network go to the RRAS console, right click the server and go to properties. Can't remember off the top of my head which tab it is, but it's in there somewhere.

      Re: RRAS VPN Issue

I created the pool in RRAS and the VPN client gets assigned from the 10.20.40.1 10.20.40.100 pool fine but I am unable to access anything on the 10.1.40.0/24 network.
