  • O2 mobile connection won't allow access to hotmail messages

I saw a strange thing yesterday. A friend of a friend uses Win Vista Home edition on a laptop. He uses O2 (UK) mobile to connect to a broadband service via a USB dongle.

When he accesses his hotmail account he can log in and can display a list of messages in his in-box. However, clicking any of the messages has no effect - none will open. I tried using my own hotmail account and experienced the same problem. I accessed my gmail account and everything could be accessed.

I connected his laptop via a CAT5 cable to a router (using a BT broadband connection), and he was able to open his messages without any problems.

Anyone know what is preventing the hotmail messages from being read while connected to the O2 service?

I've advised him to contact O2 support, but wondered if anyone here might know why this is happening.

    Thanks.
