  • Network/Server performance monitoring

I want to be able to monitor network/data throughout for some servers to see where bottlenecks are in relation to time of day in relation to when users are opening/saving data.

Any recommend a tool for this?

    Thanks

      Re: Network/Server performance monitoring

Not really, I need something client/server based to test data transfer rates and be able to monitor these at certain times of the day

Unless of course Perfmon can do that?

          Iperf looks similar to Qcheck.

Can it be run to show data transfer rates from clients to Servers over a period of time?

          Thanks

You can make a script to test every x minutes for x seconds, and save to output file.

Ok, having not used jperf do I simply set whether TCP/UDP and a high transmit value, then leave it running and save the log at the end.

Or is there a helpfile somewhere?

              Thanks

jperf is the java front end for iperf.

You can use http://www.speedtest.fi/iperf.php for basic instructions. I normally use UDP for testing
