In the an article Configuring Routing in W2K Pro/XP Pro

by Daniel Petri - January 7, 2009 you can use one pc with 2 NICs. What i am trying to find out is if this will work with a device that has been given an IP address that is communicating with a laptop via the NIC. I also need another client to be able to access the shared folders on the original pc via the wireless NIC. will the mention in the article work for this scenario?

    Re: Using 2 NICs

I think you are talking about Internet Connection Sharing -- a poor mans router

If configured properly it will allow another PC to access shared folders but watch
    a) both machines have exactly the same workgroup name
    b) Both have identical user account names and passwords
