  • Wireless client doest obtain IP from Window 2003 DHCP which on Domain Server

    Hello everyone,

We have Windows2003 SP2, configure Domain Controller, DNS and DHCP on that same Server.

We are giving reserve IP on DHCP for users who are allowed to access internet. (to control gateway address). Others are auto by DHCP.

We have one Belkin (N1 Vision) wireless router, and running both wireless point and router.

Our internet users who using with cable is no problem for IP. But who using with WLAN do not obtain the IP from win2k3 DHCP server vai Belkin wireless. (we disable the DHCP of Belkin wireless router)

Please advice me any other way to control the internet usage by DHCP, instead of DHCP reservation and how can we solve the problem that the WLAN client don't obtain IP from DHCP.

    Waiting for your valued support.

    Victor

Can you do a simple diagram to show how the main components are connected, plus IP information for them

Thank for your support. and please see the below diagram

One thing, the client and the wireless router are very close around 150 cm. Is that effect?

Got it: Wireless client doest obtain IP from Window 2003 DHCP which on Domain Server

            Hello Ossian,

I got the answer. We created WAP key included Special Character ($) and the client is a little old to decrypted the key back, so it can't proceed to get IP.

Now we changed the WAP key without special character and then OK.

Thank so much your valued time,

            Victor
