  • Network Neighbor

I have been tidying up an old Compaq Laptop still using Windows 95. All perfectly good enough to run a Qbasic program of mine for Club Auctions.

Can someone please explain how to stop the Network log in box showing each time, needing us to click the CANCEL button. Also as usual Windows will not allow me to delete the Network Neighbor icon on the desktop. Any suggestions, as we will never want to risk using the Internet on this laptop.

    Thanks

    Re: Network Neighbor

Remove the Microsoft Client in the Network Adapter properties page. Once the Microsoft Client has been deleted the unwanted icon should also disappear.

Sorry to be so thick being a pure Amateur, but where is the Microsoft Client in the Network Adapter properties page. Is it hidden somewhere under the Control Panel / Network

        Thanks
